Owner, Master Fitter
Born and raised in El Paso, Texas, Chris began playing the game of golf at an early age. He began his career in golf at Barton Creek Country Club in Austin, Texas while attending graduate school at The University of Texas at Austin. While there he studied under the direction of Bobby Dean and Brech Spradley both of which are Chuck Cook Certified Teachers.
Because of his expertise in instruction and club fitting, Chris was recruited to be a Master Fitter and Builder by Barton Creek Fitting Studio. While at BCFS, he became an intricate part of the fitting and building process (having built clubs for LPGA and former PGA tour players) and helped the fitting studio get recognized by Golf Digest as one of the best in America. He has fit and taught countless Austin area golfers that all range from professionals and collegiate golfers to elite juniors and beginners.
With the lack of club fitters and fitting studios in the El Paso and west Texas area, Chris saw an opportunity to use his experience and expertise. He then launched the Butterfield Trail Fitting Studio in February of 2021. Here he has been able to create the only outdoor fitting location in west Texas to offer every major manufacturer with real ball flight off of green grass using a TrackMan.
